The 12 Days of Throwbacks have now come to an end, and we are delighted to share the answers with you. Over the past twelve days, we have enjoyed revisiting moments from the Canford archive and inviting our community to join in the fun. The answers to each day’s question are listed below.

Day 1:

A wonderfully snowy shot of Mountjoy. What year do you think this was taken? Answer: 1961

Day 2:

Can you guess the name of the production, performed in 1963? Answer: King Lear

Day 3:

Canfordians are celebrating at the end of an annual event. Which House event happens at the end of the Christmas term? Answer: House Cross Country

Day 4:

Here is a photograph from a House Christmas Party set up. Do you recognise where it was held at Canford? Nowadays, House Christmas parties tend to take place in the Old Library and in John o' Gaunt's. Answer: Court House 

Day 5:

Can you guess which country the Canfordians are Nordic skiing in? Answer: Norway

Day 6:

Can you guess the location of the Christmas Carol service rehearsals back in 2012? Answer: Wimborne Minster

Day 7:

Can you guess the event? Answer: Franklin & Beaufort House Play in 2012
 

Day 8:

A beautiful photograph of Canford Magna Parish Church after a snowfall. Can you guess what year it was taken? Answer: 1945 

Day 9:

Franklin House Christmas dinner and entertainment in 1965. Can you guess the location? Answer: We believe this was taken in the West Wing of what used to be Franklin House. If you recognise the location, please comment on this article! 

Day 10:

Something a bit different for day 10, an article from The Canfordian that shares the story of a group of pupils who went to France to sell Christmas puddings as part of their enterprise project. How much profit do you think they made? Answer: £156.63 

Day 11:

A rather wet House cross-country race. Can you guess the year? Answer: 2019

Day 12:

Can you guess who is serving the Christmas lunch in this photograph? Answer: Martin & Judith Marriott
