A recent discovery has sparked intrigue within the Canford community after the daughter of a former member of staff spotted familiar prints displayed in an unexpected location: a room in a hotel, in Sri Lanka! The images were found at the Sun House, a historic property in the coastal city of Galle, known for its distinctive interiors and collection of antiques. Their presence has prompted questions about how such items connected to Canford may have travelled so far from their original home.
The hotel was previously owned by Geoffrey Hobbs before being passed to his nephew, Tim Edwards, suggesting a possible link through ownership history. However, the journey of the prints remains a mystery. If anyone within the community can help shed light on how they ended up in Sri Lanka, we would love to hear from you at community@canford.com.
