"In Salisbury, I have a very full life - yes, even at my age! I do a lot of volunteering, which keeps me off the streets. Actually, one of my activities puts me ON the streets - Community Speedwatch! It's amazing how fast we go in built up areas without noticing the speed. Although some do it as a pastime. 65mph in a 30 mph limit can not be considered careless.
In Salisbury Cathedral, I have been guiding and stewarding for nearly 20 years. In the recent heatwave it was definitely the coolest place in Salisbury!
Ushering at the Salisbury Playhouse is another favourite, which again I have been doing for over 15 years. It enables me to see all the shows that appeal. The price to pay is selling ice creams. Never too old to be a 'Trolley Dolly'!
My most favourite place to eat in Salisbury is 'Charlie's Kitchen and Cocktail Bar', which sells Turkish and Mediterranean food. Wonderful ambience and so friendly and professional staff. (I think the owners are retiring if there are any OC Restaurateurs out there wishing to run a restaurant in our Cathedral City!).
If any OCs are visiting Salisbury, get in touch. I can show you around."
