Old Canfordian Tim Murray-Walker M90 has spent the past two decades building a new life in the heart of southern Spain, combining his love of travel, hospitality and exceptional local produce.
After meeting his wife, Claire, in Panama City in 2000, the pair shared a dream of creating a unique place to stay in Spain. Following years of travelling and searching, they discovered a ruined olive farm nestled in the stunning Subbética Natural Park, one of Spain's least visited national parks. After more than five years of planning and renovation, Casa Olea welcomed its first guests in 2009.
Today, Tim and Claire, alongside their son Max and rescue dog Choco, continue to welcome visitors from around the world to their boutique rural retreat, sharing the beauty, culture and hospitality of this hidden corner of Andalucía.
More recently, Tim and Claire have launched Etico Olive Oil, a venture born from their passion for supporting local farmers and protecting traditional olive-growing methods. Working directly with local grower Paco and his family, they bring premium early harvest extra virgin olive oil from centuries-old olive trees straight to customers, ensuring farmers receive a fair price while preserving sustainable farming practices.
By cutting out wholesalers and retailers, Etico champions both exceptional quality and ethical production, helping to safeguard a landscape and way of life that has existed for generations.
If you're visiting the Canford Summer Fair on Saturday 16th or Sunday 17th August, be sure to stop by Tim's stand. Whether you'd like to learn more about life in Andalucía, discover Casa Olea or sample Etico's award worthy olive oil, Tim would be delighted to say hello!
