On Sunday, 6th April 2025, OC Abi Crossley D24, former Head of School, will be lacing up her running shoes to take on the ABP Southampton Half Marathon, running for a cause close to her heart, her beloved Grandpa Crossley.
Last July, Abi’s Grandpa was diagnosed with late stage liver cancer and, more recently, skin cancer. As the "rock" of their family, his resilience and strength have been a source of inspiration during this incredibly difficult year. Abi hopes that by taking on this challenge, she can show her support for him and everything he represents.
Alongside running for her Grandpa, Abi is fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support, recognising the crucial role they play in helping those affected by cancer. She acknowledges how fortunate her family has been in accessing excellent medical care and wants to help others who may not have the same immediate access to support and treatment.
Abi and her family would be incredibly grateful for any donations to Macmillan Cancer Support. If you would like to contribute, you can find her sponsorship link here.
We hope Abi’s training is going well and look forward to cheering her on in April!
