OC Toby Brooks L18 is publishing his first book alongside his artist friend, Marina de Laitre. Two Windows and a Door features Toby’s poetry in conversation with Marina’s artwork.
Developed over the last few years between Toby’s life in the Bristol poetry scene and Marina’s in Hong Kong, the book centres around finding space for creativity whilst taking on life’s perpetual changes. Toby has been working on his career as a writer and comedian since leaving university in 2021. The book chronicles this journey and talks about moving to a new city, navigating relationships and beginning careers.
First edition copies are beautifully laid out and bound on premium paper by Calvert’s in London and will be signed and numbered by both authors along with a handwritten, personalised note to all recipients. More information, as well as prints from the book can be found on the website. You can also follow along with the project’s developments on their Instagram page @twowindowsandadoor. This is just the beginning of an exciting journey.
We wish Toby every success with this venture and look forward to sharing details of upcoming publication events once they are confirmed!
