On 13th June, Old Canfordian Catie Pettit will be taking on the South Downs Way 50k as part of her ongoing fundraising efforts for SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity.
This will be Catie’s third endurance challenge in support of SSAFA, an organisation that does invaluable work supporting serving personnel, veterans, and their families. The cause is particularly close to her heart, as her son is currently serving in the Armed Forces, and a close friend has benefited enormously from the charity’s support.
Catie’s previous challenges include the Steaming to the Coast trail marathon over the Quantock Hills in Somerset, and the Isle of Wight Ultra Challenge (53k), where she achieved an impressive 4th place finish!
Looking ahead, Catie will continue her fundraising journey in September when she takes on the Chiltern Wonderland 50 mile race.
We wish Catie the very best of luck as she takes on this incredible challenge and look forward to hearing how she gets on!
