Old Canfordians |
We were delighted to host our first Real Tennis event for Old Canfordians, bringing together players of all abilities for a day of sport, nostalgia, and reconnection.
The event saw a wonderful mix of attendees, some OCs who still play regularly, some recent leavers, and one who hadn’t picked up a Real Tennis racket in 45 years! Matches took place throughout the day, with OCs also enjoying the chance to watch our professional players, James Ryan & Nat Cherry, in action. A relaxed lunch provided the perfect setting for catching up, and former teachers Keith Hay and John Boys, joined the gathering.
We’ve had fantastic feedback, including this lovely comment from an OC:
"I can’t tell you how good it was to be back on the court after all these years. As my first taster of an OC event, it reminded me of how special Canford is and how I’d like to pop back more regularly in the future."
The success of this event has set the tone for an exciting year ahead! Next up, we look forward to welcoming OCs back for the OC Football event in March, and following the popularity of last year’s match, we’re excited to host another OC Hockey event in 2026, watch this space for a save the date!
