Old Canfordians |
Almost a century ago, Canfordians gathered for the grand opening of Beaufort House, an occasion marked by the presence of the Duke and Duchess of Beaufort on Speech Day, 27th June 1930. The event, set against the backdrop of a sunlit campus, was a day of celebration, tradition, and vision for the future. Now, nearly a hundred years later, the same spirit of progress continues as the building embarks on a new chapter as The Hub, a state of the art Sixth Form space.
Originally home to Beaufort, Monteacute, and Wimborne House pupils, Beaufort House has long been a cornerstone of Canford life. In keeping with its legacy, its transformation into The Hub marks an exciting development, providing Sixth Formers with a dedicated space for study, support, and enrichment as they prepare for life beyond school.
To celebrate its significance, Canford is offering a unique opportunity to name a room in the renovated building. This is more than just a name, it is a chance to leave a lasting legacy while supporting the Martin Marriott Foundation for bursaries. Every donation will help provide a life-changing Canford education to pupils who would not have access without significant financial support.
The Hub will be a place visited by all Canfordians in their Sixth Form years, ensuring that the memories and history of the building remain woven into the fabric of school life. If you would like to make your mark on this special space while helping to transform a pupil’s future, please reach out to rjg@canford.com for further details.
