Old Canfordians |
Two Old Canfordians Jude Organ SH22 and Tommy Davies C22, are preparing for the adventure of a lifetime. They are reuniting for an epic cycling expedition this summer: a 5,000km ride from Istanbul to London in just 45 days.
The duo are undertaking this ambitious journey in July 2025 to raise funds for World Bicycle Relief (WBR), setting themselves a fundraising target of £10,000. Their route will follow a number of scenic and historic EuroVelo trails, weaving through diverse landscapes, cultures, and communities across Europe.
A Journey of Purpose and Endurance
This is more than just a physical challenge. With daily distances ranging between 80 and 120 kilometres, often in intense summer heat, the journey demands both physical resilience and mental grit. Fortunately, both alumni have long shared a passion for sport, travel, and pushing their personal limits – qualities nurtured during their time at Canford.
Beyond the adventure, their mission is rooted in a desire to create meaningful change. By supporting World Bicycle Relief, they hope to make a tangible impact in communities where distance is a major barrier to education.
Why World Bicycle Relief?
World Bicycle Relief is a nonprofit organisation that provides specially designed ‘Buffalo Bicycles’ to people in developing regions. The focus of this fundraiser is WBR’s education initiative, which helps students — particularly girls — travel safely and reliably to school. In rural areas, long and dangerous commutes often result in school dropouts. A bicycle can be a life-changing tool, improving attendance, academic performance, and long-term opportunities.
Tommy and Jude have chosen WBR for three key reasons:
Can you help?
The pair are currently deep in training and are calling on the Canford community for support – whether through donations, spreading the word, or simply following along and offering encouragement. Every pound raised will go directly to World Bicycle Relief and help provide life-changing mobility to students in need.
This journey represents a powerful blend of personal challenge and charitable purpose. As they prepare to set off, they remain focused on what matters most: using their passion for adventure to help others achieve a brighter future.

Good luck Tommy & Jude!
